7 Days of Kalista’s Sharp Style #OOTD

#OOTD-T4-Calendar-Image

You see me looking smart and polished on camera, but what do I wear on the days when I’m home with my girls? I’m about to show you. I took pictures of all my outfits during a normal week, and I’m excited to share my #OOTD (Outfit of the Day) Journal with you today.

Monday:

Today was my full day at the office. We had a long day of filming 8 Bold & Crisp Type 4 Outfits for Fall, so I started out in a comfortable outfit. I spent the morning at home with my girls, reading stories and playing around. I applied full-face makeup and took some extra time blowing out my hair. I wanted to pop some color with my makeup, so I opted for blue and pink eyeshadow. It looked great, and I received some compliments which is always a plus.

Tuesday:

Today was the first of my half-and-half days. I spend the mornings teaching a little Montessori preschool in my home for my girls and a few littles cousins. Whatever I wear these days needs to take me from home to work; comfortable enough to let me crawl around with littles, and put-together enough that I can pop into work in the afternoons. I always feel business-casual-ready in this outfit.

What I wore:

  • This is my cool zebra print top from Express. It is a little sheer, so I layered with the Type 4 Essential White Tee
  • This Type 4 Light Layer Cardigan in Sapphire is great! I like the drape of the lightweight knit, and the color is so vivid.
  • For bottoms, I just wore some simple black slacks. I usually buy the “crop” length in most styles— “crop” is my “normal.” I’m such a shorty.
  • For shoes, I chose a simple wedge slip-on.
  • I opted for an earrings-only look this day. I like these Type 4 Refining Moment Earrings to give me some understated bling.
  • This was a super simple makeup day for me. I defined my brows and did a swipe of mascara. These are my must-do’s. I have been using the Type 4 Volume X Mascara-Ink for a couple of years now. I love how it plumps my lashes up.

Wednesday:

Another half-and-half (plus some) day for me. I was with the kids in the morning, made a trip to the grocery store, and then was off to work. I knew that I would be working in the warehouse, so I went with jeans, a tee, and comfy shoes. It was a super busy day for me, and I was glad that I had chosen to go for comfort.

What I wore:

  • Type 4 Linear Thinking Top: I can never get enough stripes. This baseball tee has been a favorite of mine for almost a year.
  • For bottoms, these are my “at home pants.” I got them from The LOFT. They are curvy petite and fit me great.
  • Shoes: my favorites yet again!
  • When working with small children I usually opt for earrings over a necklace, not wanting the necklace swinging into their faces. I like the unique bird design in these Type 4 Flying Solo Earrings
  • Makeup: Type 4 Lip Balm- Dragon Fruit

Thursday:

Today was my last half-and-half day for the week, so I opted yet again for another comfy outfit. The best part is that I didn’t have to sacrifice looks for comfort. The weather was a bit chilly today, so the cardigan was nice to have. I also liked how it added some bold color while also keeping me warm.

Friday:

Fridays are my open days. So today I ran errands, caught up on housework, worked from home, and did a few other things. I had a little more time this morning to get ready, so I put in a bit more effort. I really like this outfit, and I wear it often. I feel great and comfortable.

Saturday:

My family and I went to a fall festival today, and I knew we would be out in the sun. I wanted to make sure that my skin was protected so I applied a foundation of BB Cream. I loved featuring green today. The cardigan really brought out the green pattern in my scarf. A friend of mine told me that she really liked my outfit, and I felt great all day long!

What I wore:

  • Top: This is a black chiffon top. I like that it has a bit longer length.
  • Type 4 Bright Green Cardigan
  • Type 4 Pulled Together Pants. These are definitely a favorite in my wardrobe.
  • Shoes: I found these Toms a few months back. They have a square pattern stitched in white.
  • I got this bird print scarf from the Dressing Your Truth store this past spring.
  • BB Cream in Light

Sunday:

I teach the 3-year-old class in my church. And so, much like my other days of the week, I need something that I can move around in easily. I really like this dress, and I wear it often. It’s bold and comfortable, and the red accent offers a fresh pop of color.
