How to Enjoy Gratitude Even When You Don’t Feel Grateful

We all have a lot to be thankful for at Thanksgiving. But if you’re going through a rough season, you might be asking, “But what if I don’t feel thankful?” I know what that’s like. Believe me.

About 25 years ago when I had an emotional breakdown, I had a hard time feeling grateful. My outlook on life was grim, and I could barely see beyond my own pain.

But you know what? You don’t need to feel thankful to express gratitude.

Choose gratitude first, then feel it.

Gratitude is one of the highest vibrations. And you can choose to enter it!

It doesn’t matter what our circumstances might look like. The more you create feelings of appreciation and gratitude, the more you will attract into your life those things you appreciate and feel gratitude for.

Start expressing your gratitude for what you do have and the people you love, and you’ll begin to shift your energy toward abundance.

Allow gratitude to become a lifestyle for you, no matter what is going on in your life, in the country, or in the world.

At Live Your Truth, we’re practicing gratitude by creating a list of 1,000 reasons to be thankful before Thanksgiving Day. We’d love your help!

Why 1,000 Reasons?

First, let me tell you about a book my family started all the way back in 1996. We put a notebook out on the kitchen counter, and together as a family (and friends who visited), we wrote 1,000 of our most personal things to be thankful for.

We’re continuing the tradition on this blog, and I want you to join in!
